Designed and tested for a decade by noted outdoor writer L.P. Brezny, the Hastings Metro™ Extension System will transform your existing original equipment shotgun into a Metro™ Gun System.

Simply thread your choke out and install the Hastings Metro™ Extension into your existing choke system and tighten with its spanner wrench. When fitted tight, install your original choke tube into the muzzle and you have a complete Metro™ Gun System. It is safe to use with all commercial ammunition, but when used with Federal Metro™ System Subsonic Ammunition, the combined results are a low environmental impact barrel system with low noise levels.

The Metro™ Gun System is not only subsonic but delivers a very low recoil to the shooter, points smoothly and follows through when used as a static pass gun. Finished in non-glare matte surface and blued. 32" overall length.

Subsonic Loads: Federal Cartridge Co. loads a special subsonic tungsten/iron non-toxic shell in 12 gauge, 3" for the Metro™ Gun System as well as a GP lead load for crows and clay target work. During chronograph testing, it was found the Metro™ Gun System can increase the muzzle velocity of a given load due to a complete burn of the powder in the longer tube. Some loads created up to 100-f.p.s. higher speeds due to the better burn compared with the primary 24" Hastings Barrel.

Note: Because of the low-pressure loading, the Metro™ Extension System is recommended for 12-gauge pump and single-barrel shotguns. Lower pressures of subsonic ammunition may not cycle some automatic shotguns and may require manual extraction and loading. Due to added barrel weight, the Metro™ Extension is not recommended for use with heavy loads in recoiling-barrel shotguns such as the Browning A-5 models.
